Healthy Communities

An action plan to promote nutrition and physical Activity.

  • The Moses Lake Healthy Communities project is working to encourage Moses Lake residents to eat healthier and make physical activity part of their daily lives by making the healthy choice the easy choice.
  • There are 3 groups which are a part of this project and are looking for interested members and support from the community.

This group is working on creating a network of linked paths that will be used throughout Moses Lake for exercise, recreation, transportation, tourism to promote healthier lifestyles for our community

The Community Garden is located between Balsam and Alder on Fourth Ave in Moses Lake.  This is a place open to all people of Moses Lake to:  Gather, garden and grow healthy food, enjoy healthy leisure activity, learn about gardening, nutrition, and preparing food, and eat more fruits and vegetables.  Interested persons can register for a plot at the Parks and Recreation office 324 S. Balsam or call Parks & Recreation at 766-9240 for more information.  For E-mail questions/comments go to: sschwiesow@ci.moses-lake.wa.us

This group promotes, protects, and supports breastfeeding in the Moses Lake Community so that good nutrition at birth is a basic part of good nutrition throughout life.  They have succeeded in providing more ‘Mother’s Rooms’ throughout the community by encouraging work-sites to be ‘breastfeeding-friendly’.
